Our purpose
Our purpose is to ensure that no one goes through cancer without the care of a McGrath Cancer Care Nurse.
Together, we can ensure that no one misses out on care
20 years of care
It started with care, twenty years ago. A one-of-a-kind relationship changed cancer care in Australia forever.
From our first nurse in 2005 to the 343 incredible McGrath Cancer Care Nurses supporting communities today, we’ve helped over 161,000 individuals and families navigate cancer with expert, compassionate care.
Now we’re taking our care to all cancers. Because everyone going through cancer deserves to have a McGrath Cancer Care Nurse by their side.
Our impact since 2005
“My McGrath Cancer Care Nurse Nicola helped me live well with cancer."
Father of two Paul Nelson has faced cancer three times in ten years. Throughout his treatment, he was connected with McGrath Cancer Care Nurse Nicola, who became a constant source of strength and reassurance.
Nicola is Australia’s first McGrath Cancer Care Nurse specialising in lung cancer. She provides not only expert clinical care but also emotional and practical support, helping people like Paul navigate the challenges of treatment and everyday life.
For Paul, Nicola’s care has helped him stay active, positive, and focused on what matters most. With her guidance, he’s learned how to manage his health, maintain his independence, and keep doing the things he loves.
